However, you can greatly reduce your risk of having a head-on accident with the help of Forward Collision Warning (FCW) available on the 2021 Ram 3500 models.

Complete with Active Braking, this intelligent feature uses front- and wheel-mounted sensors and data from the electronic brake controller to detect most oncoming obstacles. Visual and audible alerts will go off, and you may even feel a brake-jerk warning as well. If no action is taken by you to avoid hitting the obstruction, the mechanism will take over the braking system to bring the truck to a halt before impact is made. It works while you are towing a trailer too.

While most people think of other vehicles as triggers, guardrails and signposts can also be deemed as potential threats. This typically occurs while traveling through a curve or if you start to drift off of the paved road. The FCW system can be turned on or off using the Uconnect touchscreen interface.

Please keep in mind that this is an advanced element, but it cannot detect every type of probable accident. It is always your job to pay attention while you are piloting any transport.
